Accessibility Statement

Our commitment
I News Australia is committed to making this Site accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA as a minimum standard.
What we're doing
- Colour contrast: We aim for sufficient contrast ratios between text and backgrounds.
- Keyboard navigation: Key functionality is accessible without a mouse.
- Alternative text: Images carry descriptive alt text.
- Clear structure: We use semantic HTML headings, landmarks, and lists to aid screen readers.
- Resizable text: Content can be zoomed to 200% without loss of functionality.
- Focus indicators: Visible focus styles are provided for keyboard users.
Known limitations
Some older third-party embeds (e.g. social media widgets) may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. We are working to identify and resolve these issues.
Technical information
This Site is built with React and uses semantic HTML5. We test with modern screen readers and browsers. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA but acknowledge it is an ongoing effort, not a one-time achievement.
